Hello Everyone in Natural Health Nation-
I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend but we're back to winter. We've talked to many people who have what they call the “crud”. It seems to be a combination of cold and flu symptoms with some people having more sinus and headaches and some having more nausea. For us here at Natural Health, it looks to be a cleaning of the bad eating and stress that everyone had over the holidays. We've been led to believe that all sickness is due to a bug of some sort but it's important to realize that the bugs show up to handle mucus and damaged tissue that were there because of, again, the bad eating habits and stress induced damage to tissues that we all experienced over the holidays. Stress, whether good or bad, burns up many of the good nutrients that we have and lend towards inflammation and a decrease in the immune system's ability to handle things quickly. Once a bug gets established, the body must go through a whole series of immune system responses which can usually take between 10 days and two weeks to work through. The patients that we're seeing that have this problem are being helped by more drainage nutrition and nutrition to help the immune system strengthen so that it can overcome the problems it has, whether that be getting rid of bugs or healing areas of inflammation. We even have our patients scheduled to take more nutrition of the correct kind during times of stress and they know how to avoid long periods of sickness. We find that the longer patients are on our program, the less time they have being sick- whatever symptoms that means to them.
The article that I'm sending along today looks at using heat therapy which helps to lower high blood pressure. It would make sense that if you sweat out a lot of excitatory toxins and excess fluid, the blood vessels will be able to relax more, and blood pressure would go down. We tell our patients that if they do a sauna or any type of heat therapy to make sure that they stay hydrated and that includes good quality water and electrolytes, which is a high quality word for sea salt or mineral salt. I think, though, that it goes beyond this. Our society is so geared into being busy or entertained or whatever all the time that just taking a few minutes out of every day to be in a sauna, take a walk outside, go swimming, or anything that that person likes, can help you to concentrate on relaxing and this in turn helps to lower blood pressure by reducing stress that is excitatory to the vascular system. Many patients that come into our office are on high blood pressure medication and that is necessary for a short time to prevent bad outcomes, but the medical establishment never looks at the underlying cause of what's going on there. At Natural Health, we are always looking at the underlying cause of the symptom or condition the patient is afflicted with. This includes removing nerve interference so that the nervous system can coordinate healing and bring the body back into balance, and nutritional support so the body has the building blocks that it needs for repair and handling the stresses and strains of everyday life. Medication is not healing but is only a treatment used to keep symptoms and numbers under control. Long term use of these medications can lead to other problems worse than the ones the patient had before. An example of this is congestive heart failure due to long term use of high blood pressure medication. It's much better to find the cause and get the body back to a state of natural health.
