Good morning, afternoon, or evening, Natural Health Family. I imagine everyone enjoyed their weekend and got some good, healthy sunshine. This time in our life we have so much information at our fingertips. We can look up anything to find the answer to a question or to see what's going on in the world. This can be great and helpful as a useful tool. However, there is the other side of the sword, where we have to be able to have discernment about what is good for us or can be beneficial to us. Instead of searching for all the information, let’s get back to principles and see if they can lead us in the direction we want to go.

When you look up information on the internet, see it on TV, or read about something in an article or magazine related to health, what do you commonly see? It is usually the “next best thing,” the wonder drug, or a trendy fad going on. It can also be more of these things, telling people they are sick, have xyz dis-ease, an illness that is on the rise, or that as we get older, we start having issues, etc. These are common stories or information that we are, for lack of better words, digesting if we don’t become aware. But what about all that they are not telling us? Let’s lay down some facts and principles.

  1. Fear can inhibit the ability of a person’s body to heal

  2. Your body is made to self-heal and self-regulate.

  3. Your lungs breathe in 2,000 gallons of air per day.

  4. The air breathed through the lungs helps to oxygenate the 2,000 gallons of blood that is circulated throughout the body.

  5. The kidneys filter 1.5 liters of blood every minute

  6. Approximately 100 million new red blood cells are being replaced and regenerated every minute

  7. A genetic propensity for issues does not mean that a person will have those issues.

  8. Adaptation is key to a person’s health and longevity.

  9. Our physical digestion of what we eat and drink, and mental digestion of what we learn and take in is important in our health.

  10. How we view ourselves and the world can have a signifacnt impact on our health.

So when it comes to our health, we should not dwell on problems and issues so much as what we study and learn can affect our health. We can have the capacity and courage to learn more about health and ourselves so to realize that we have the power to be healthy lifelong. Even as the world tells you what is or what’s possible, we still can have the ability to discern what is true and to allow ourselves to see more possibilities. Have a great week!
