Hello Everyone in Natural Health Nation –
Isn’t it great to see Spring coming? I love this time of year as we’re seeing things green up and the temperature going up. It’s really just nice to get out of Winter. We are seeing folks come in with colds and flu, even some allergy symptoms from the wind blowing dust and mold around. We have great products to help our patients with detox and strengthening immunity. Many folks are low in Vitamin D as we’ve been stuck inside for months. Hopefully, we can start getting outside for some fresh air and get some good sunshine to activate the Vitamin D precursors in our skin. Yes – sunshine is good for us, in moderation of course. Humans have been enjoying sunshine for millennia and is important for good health and healthy bodily functions. We need to use more common sense when we listen to health news. Think about what humans have been doing and eating forever and survived.
The article that I’m sending along today looks at Mitochondrial Dysfunction in Neurodegenerative Disorders. This just means that the cells in the body are not producing enough energy for brain and nerve tissue to work correctly and repair themselves so that these tissues stop working well and lead to symptoms. This has a lot to do with bad eating habits and environmental toxins. We all know folks that live well into their 90’s and can still think well but folks in their 40s or 50s that are in decline. Why they difference? Again, bad eating choices and toxins. It’s not really rocket science; you don’t need a white coat to figure a lot of this stuff out. We have been lied to for years from manufacturing ads and government agencies about the foods we should and shouldn’t eat.
Examples of this are eggs. salt, seed oils, carbs, etc. We do a lot of work here at Natural Health educating our patients on what is actually healthful, not the fad or what some “expert” has thought up this week or the next. The principles behind real health are not that hard but are hard to adhere to in our society because of certain traditions and family eating habits. Medics love to blame genetics for problems but if that was the only cause, humans would not be around anymore. Epigenetics is the science of what turns genes on and off, and that’s the environment the person is in every day. Environmental toxins, stress, and food choices are the variables that determine health outcomes and are something we can do something about. We’re here to help guide you toward the goal of actual health at Natural Health.
