Hello Everyone in Natural Health Nation-
Another beautiful weekend and I hope you enjoyed yours. The temperatures were just about right but I was hoping to get a little rain in there somewhere. We're having patients complain about sinus problems due to the dry weather and the dust and pollen that's in the air. We have two great products that help the liver to drain the sinuses and lymphatics. These two products are Antronex and Alergco. Both products are meant to help the liver to have a higher capacity to drain the lymphatics. Rather than using a drug to suppress inflammation and healing, our strategy is to help the liver to do its job correctly and get the trash and junk drained out of the body so that it doesn't cause allergy type symptoms. People that take antihistamines or nose sprays and those type of things are actually making the problem worse because the liver has to deal with the chemicals and the congestion there is what caused the problem in the first place. Symptom relief is fine, but you must still work towards getting the underlying problem under control if you really want to work towards true health.
The article that I'm sending along this week looks at the need for good quality water and for a reason that most people don't understand. The crystalline structure of water in cells is necessary as the article explains, to help with many functions that lend towards true natural health. At Natural Health, we stress the need for water and have our patients list the amounts that they use on their diet sheets so that we can track them. We strive to get patients to drink half of their body weight in oz per day at a minimum because we are helping their body to detox and hydrate. Good quality water is important for these functions and as you can see in the article, in a form that many of us don't realize is even there. We also strive to get our patients to consume electrolytes, which is just a fancy word for salt, to help the body realize its best hydrated status. The kidneys and the sweat glands work by using salt so it's important to use good quality sea salt or mineral salt as an electrolyte source. Salt has been villainized by mainstream medicine for decades and that is a shame. We know that refined salt is a troublemaker and that's what's in all your processed foods because it's cheap but the need for real sea salt is as important as vitamins and minerals. The good news is that sea salt or mineral salt has a lot of good minerals with it as long as it hasn't been processed. There are games being played out there by manufacturers to get people to think that what they're getting is sea salt, but it is still very white and pure so then we know that the minerals have been processed out of it. There is even one company selling a sea salt grinder with the hope of luring people to buy it because they think it's sea salt but it's just the grinder, the salt in it is white and pure and processed. Not only is salt good for electrolytes but it helps to correct pH imbalances in the body keeping bugs under control.
