Hello Everyone in Natural Health Nation –
What a beautiful weekend. It’s so nice to have it a little cooler, so you could enjoy being outside. The humidity is down too, and it didn’t rain all weekend. I was glad to dry out a little, but I hope it doesn’t stay away too long. I really enjoy the green grass, and we’ll have plenty of time for a brown yard during the fall, I guess. We had a lot of patients having a hard time with hydration during that heat spell. Even if you were in the AC, it was running so much that it dehydrated the body. I harp on hydration a lot because it’s such a simple thing to forget and can cause some major health problems. We’re still using a lot of the Cal-Amo product that I’ve spoken about before. Don’t forget that hydration is more than just water, it includes electrolytes, which is a fancy term for sea salt or mineral salt. Being very tired, muscle cramps, or very yellow urine, is an indicator of dehydration.
The article that I’m sending this week is about the connection of Moms being prescribed antidepressants during pregnancy and having babies with heart birth defects. I think it would be common sense to realize that anyone who is depressed is vitamin and/or mineral deficient and then trying to grow a baby who needs at least 10 pounds of Mom’s good nutrition, would have troubles. I’m not blaming the moms here, but my question is when is the medical profession going to realize that people need real nutrition, not just a multivitamin made of junk synthetic ingredients, but actual food that the body needs to be healthy and grow babies in this case? I’ve had many patients over the years tell me their MD said that what they eat has nothing to do with their health. Nothing could be farther from the truth. My preference is to have moms-to-be, come in a year early and get their diet on track and supplement what they need to be ready to carry a baby to term and both be in good health. It’s really not rocket science. Farmers that raise animals for profit know this stuff but MDs don’t seem to. With all the news articles now on Big profits for Big medicine, I think they look at the downstream profits, like therapists and surgeries, rather than even trying to prevent problems. At Natural Health, we’re all about prevention and real health, and being able to enjoy life without the fear they spread about everything that comes along. Our bodies have the innate intelligence to be able to keep itself healthy, but we have to follow the rules. You can’t run a gas car on diesel and not expect trouble. Same way with the human body, it has to be fed correctly.
