Hello Everyone in Natural Health Nation-
I hope that you all had a great weekend and enjoyed the beautiful weather. We got some much-needed rain and that sure helped to settle the dust from the harvesters. The temperatures are going down a bit and that's OK for this time of year. I'm just hoping that they don't go down too far too fast. This time of year, is always so nice but we have to worry about winter coming and hopefully we'll have a nice long Indian summer. I think it has to freeze first for Indian summer to show up, but hopefully that will make November a nice month to be outside as well. We're still seeing a lot of people fighting sinus problems and, since they've started the flu shots with the accompanying shedding, we are helping with flu symptoms and helping the immune system to overcome them. Our Cataplex A-C Product really helps the immune system to strengthen so it can get rid of those pesky flu viruses. It also helps the immune system get rid of toxins and mucus through the lymphatics. We are also reminding patients to continue drinking water and using their favorite sea salt or mineral salt to keep themselves hydrated. This goes a long way in helping the body to be healthy and being able to enjoy our nice fall weather.
The article that I'm sending along this week looks at the problem with the narrative on eggs causing cholesterol problems. This unproven “science” has been a thorn in the side of Natural health practitioners for a long time, actually decades. First off, the article talks about eggs lowering LDL cholesterol, which is an about face from all the experts over these last decades. Secondly, foods are responsible for only 5% of the cholesterol in the body as the liver makes the other 95%. The question is never asked by the medics as to why is the liver making all this cholesterol? Cholesterol is used by the body to help itself with inflammation, especially in the cardiovascular system. Just prescribing statins to force the cholesterol number down is not helping the overall health of the patient, as we're seeing in all the negative outcome numbers of health in this country.
At Natural Health, we do a lot of work getting patients to not eat foods that are inflammatory and find out which foods are a problem for that person. We also use nutritional supplements that help the body to heal, and the inflammation goes away on its own. Using medications to force cholesterol numbers down and using medications to force inflammation to subside, are not healthy to the body long term and overall health suffers. Inflammation is used by the body to help itself heal. The problem comes when the body does not have the correct building blocks to heal itself and if inflammation becomes chronic, the body may have to use cheap material, like scar tissue, to handle the problem. In the cardiovascular system, this is called plaquing and it's not because of cholesterol, but the body’s use of cholesterol for this purpose as blood vessels are not healing correctly. The body does the best it can with what it has to work with.
