Hello Everyone in Natural Health Nation –
Well, if you're a winter person, I'm sure you enjoyed the weekend. I have several patients that like the snow and cold weather, so I'll blame them for this winter blast- ha. I've seen several posts on social media that we should enjoy the seasons so that we can enjoy other seasons that we like better. It's kind of like the “heart grows fonder with distance” thing. My sister lives in Minnesota and they actually have a lot of fun with winter activities. It just seems like in this area of the Midwest, winter is more of a pain in the butt than it is any fun. I was never a big fan of the cold and it's getting worse as I get older, but I do know that we can survive it and we'll really enjoy Spring when it gets here. It's just that this time of the year, Spring is a long time away. We are also noticing an uptake in people with colds and flu and sinus issues. Our sales of Congalex and Antronex are definitely going up due to the need of our patients to handle these symptoms. We're also starting to look at the need for vitamin D and have two great sources of that with our Cod Liver Oil product and our Cataplex D product. There is no need to suffer with these conditions and use chemicals to suppress symptoms when we have the nutritional resources to handle the underlying cause. We like to see healthy people over the holidays at Natural Health.
The article that I'm sending along today looks at the problem of not limiting sugar early in life and kids eating lots of sugar and what this causes as they get older. People like to argue with me about are viewpoint that sugar is bad for us in that everyone knows that the body can use sugar as an energy source. This I would agree on, but the problem comes in that people use it too much, especially kids during the holiday seasons, and that our bodies were never meant to have it in a refined and concentrated source, like high fructose corn syrup. If you look at the sources of sugar in nature, there are always minerals and vitamins and fiber that come along with it so that the body uses it slowly. When we eat sources of sugar that are highly refined and concentrated, this causes insulin spikes in the body which irritate the blood vessels and cardiovascular system in general. This is where cardiovascular disease starts from and the medical people are blaming cholesterol, but cholesterol is not the cause, it is the result. These sources of refined sugars that have no vitamins or minerals with them, cause the body to pull these minerals and vitamins from other systems, like the immune system, and lend people towards more infections and colds and flu and the like, because it lowers our immunity in general. Then all the bugs can get out of control, and this would even include parasites. This stuff is not really rocket science but we have been brainwashed over the years to eat lots of junk and then get medical treatment for it later when it becomes a disease process. This is the game to make big money for Big Ag and for Big Medicine and Big Pharma. The problem is that America's health is suffering, just look at the stats!
