Hello Everyone in Natural Health Nation –
I hope that everyone had a great Mother’s Day and got rested up over the weekend. It’s so nice to have great weather and to be able to get outside again. It looks like the nice weather is going to stay around too. When getting in the sun, it’s great to get a little tan going to not only look good, but to get the Vitamin D activated in the skin. This helps get rid of the Spring colds it seems that everyone has now. I think a lot of what people think are Spring allergies are actually winter colds that just haven’t been cleared up by the body, and the Vitamin D that we get in the Spring from getting in the sun more, helps the immune system get over it. We use a lot of drainage nutrition this time of year to help the body get rid of all the mucous held in the lymphatics as the liver gets overloaded during the winter. With all the holidays, bad eating choices, and stress, the body needs help to get it all worked out and we can really help here at Natural Health. You don’t need more drugs, just direction to make sure that the body is hydrated, the pH is right, the immune system is up, and the liver can get rid of the trash caused by infection fighting and dust and all. It’s a great time of year and were here to help you enjoy it.
The article that I’m sending along looks at the connection of the microbiome and stress handling. If the gut is not working correctly, it’s very easy to have mental health issues. One of the biggest causes of this can be use, or overuse, of antibiotics. Now don’t get me wrong, if you need them, they can be lifesavers. The problem is that they’re handed out like candy, even for colds and flu due to viruses, which are not affected by antibiotics. These antibiotics can wreak havoc on the intestinal flora, allowing the bad forms of yeast to overgrow, and causing intestinal dysbiosis. This can lead to diarrhea and/or constipation, bloating, and just plain old indigestion. We do a lot of work here at Natural Health, helping patients get their digestive systems working correctly. We also help get their immune systems working better so that they don’t need antibiotics. Unfortunately, there are antibiotics in some of the food that we get so supplementing with a probiotic is necessary almost all the time. Our favorite probiotic supplement is Prosymbiotic from Standard Process. This supplement has probiotics (the good bacteria), pre-biotic inulin to feed the good bacteria, and good yeast to overcome any bad yeast overgrowth that can happen with this condition. Keeping the intestinal flora in good shape helps the body absorb good nutrition, especially the B vitamins, which are so important for mental health and ability to handle stress. There are so many good ways to help the body be actually healthy and the more you can stay away from drugs and these synthetic antibiotics, the more the body has the ability to handle infections and environmental toxins by itself.
