Hello Everyone in Natural Health Nation –

I hope that you all had a great 4th of July weekend. The time sure went by fast. Were also having a year where it rains from time to time. The last several years have been pretty dry but this year is different, and it’s so nice to see everything growing and staying green. I really like to watch weather as it comes across and there has been some weather to watch this year. The only trouble with the rain is it gets the plants to produce pollen and can create some mold problems for those that are sensitive. We help a lot of patients with these sensitivities. It’s really just about keeping the liver working well and helping it to drain the lymphatics. Simple things but most folks don’t think about that.

The article that I’m sending along looks at the better outcomes of treating Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO) holistically as compared to treating it with antibiotics. At Natural Health, we strive to help the body use its natural innate intelligence and provide correct nutritional support, to help itself heal, rather than use chemicals to make something happen or stop a symptom. Health is much more than just being symptom free. And don’t get me wrong, medications can be life saving if needed in an emergency, but eventually, you must find the underlying cause of the problem to get back to real health. That is what we do at Natural Health that is different, using techniques that help us find the cause and getting that handled rather than just treat a symptom. Many times, the underlying cause is not that hard to treat. For instance, many patients with SIBO are not getting enough electrolytes (good quality salt) in their diets and are eating too many refined carbs, that lend the gut to be relatively basic, allowing the “bugs” to flourish. By increasing the salt intake, the pH changes and the bugs die off. Then using a good quality probiotic to regrow the normal intestinal flora, and amazingly, the problem is handled, unless the patient goes back to bad habits. Maintaining real Health is a never-ending process and we have the techniques to monitor a person’s health status at Natural Health. Take the first steps to health by getting yourself, or people you know, tested and on a program to be healthy and not need emergency medical treatment. Quality of life is just as important as quantity.
