Our bodies are amazing and intelligently designed.

Welcome back again, Natural Health Family.

I hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable Halloween. As we move from a season of ghosts and goblins and to that of giving thanks, what we are all familiar with is how fear can stop us in our tracks. We all navigate the world in different ways, having different upbringings and ideas of the world. When it comes to our health, sometimes it can be scary to experience different situations, have certain issues, or see our neighbor suffering. However, sometimes it doesn’t take a manner of forcing our opinions on others but rather encouraging them that when they want help or are ready there are other paths.

Recently I was talking to someone about the so-called flu season. They wanted to hear what my thoughts were on the topic. I told the person that I don’t really think much about it. However, I will discuss a few things that I think can help many people in regards to this matter and from different lenses. Have you ever questioned why places “market” the flu season? You will see signs, hear things on the radio, and see on tv about the flu season and to get the flu shot. I am not saying this is good or bad. However, people can be led to think that getting the flu or having a cold is normal. What if the opposite was true? What if a strong immune system was normal and that when we build that up and keep it strong that the flu or cold can’t touch us. Because here's the catch, the flu or cold is not something we “catch.” It actually is an intelligent way for your body to rid a build up of viruses, bacteria, etc. in the body. It is the last way to give your body a rest and let it do its job. Again, that is not normal but what the body will do if it needs to. But does it have to come to that where we get knocked down with these symptoms? No, of course not. Is it okay when it happens though. Yes, of course it is. Think of it more like the body wants us to slow down and it is resetting to be able to adapt to what is going on.

Our bodies are amazing and intelligently designed to adapt and stay healthy. However, the world will tell you otherwise, that it is weak, broken, and susceptible to illness. That is why it is important to build ourselves back up, to stay strong, to know that health is normal, and to encourage ourselves and others.

Be well and enjoy the rest of the week.
