It Takes A Little Practice

Welcome back again, Natural Health Family. The world is still moving right along. Time seems to be speeding on by as we head into May. I hope you have been enjoying some projects, getaways, or just little things in the day-to-day. They say practice makes perfect, so let’s talk about how practice can help with our health.

Have you ever planned for a vacation? I would assume most if not all, people have at some point. Now, when you went on vacation, did it take you some time to relax and enjoy where you were? It seems some people can have this tendency. But why? Why is it that people can have a hard time enjoying the little things along the way or even the destination? One train of thought is what we have practiced. Think of it like this, a person wants to be good at hitting a golf ball so that one day they can be a considered a professional. What would that training be? Of course, it would be time spent hitting the ball, correcting its swing along the way, foot placement, keeping the head down, etc. What would the training not entail? It wouldn’t be getting upset for not hitting the ball just right, it wouldn’t be feeling like you are doing it wrong, it wouldn’t be worrying if they were doing it right, etc. Why? Because they know it’s practice, and it is the journey on the way to getting better at that particular skill. So when it comes to life, when it comes to the little things along the way to a destination, it is important to practice. This means to look for the good, taking time to rest, enjoying small things, enjoying time with others, etc. Because these small things help our bodies to heal, regulate, and be healthy.

Sometimes it might seem like we have to get everything done, like we are not where we are supposed to be, like there is no end to a project, etc. However, maybe it’s not a matter of doing it all but of seeing that it is an ongoing journey, so you might as well get good at enjoying most of it along the way. Have a great week.
