Welcome back, Natural Health Family. I hope everyone is enjoying the summer season. I have been into a show recently and it is about people surviving nature and outlasting the environment in a way. It makes you come to realize what really matters and our necessities. It discussed a lot about food, water, and shelter. Let’s dive into the other aspects as we can use this as a perspective from a fast paced society to slowing it down in nature.
During the show, people called in to be escorted back home one by one. The first couple wanted to leave and were afraid for the immediate safety of bears and cougars. So naturally, they didn’t last long. The next few left due to concerns about physical health such as infection and dehydration. However, the last few were a bit different. They all had what they needed such as food, water and shelter for the most part. Nonetheless, the battle or struggle they were facing was more nonphysical. It was more about why they were there, their relationships back home, and was it really worth spending time out there rather than their family back home. So in the end, it wasn’t about the adventure, it wasn’t about the prize, but learning more about themselves and realizing what was important in life again.
I believe this was a great lesson. It shows that we all need a sense of safety. That our health is most important. That nature is a great teacher. And also, that slowing down can not only help us to realize what is important in life but can help us to reconnect to that aspect of ourselves that helps us to see that we are all equal, that we all have similar desires, that we all go through similar challenges in life, and at the end of the day we all are doing are best with what we have.
Have a great week and safe Independence Day.
